“The DCF has also launched a pilot program called Icebreakers, which is designed to create conversations between birth parents and foster parents within 10 days of a long-term foster care placement. The program will be implemented statewide in 2019.” That’ll be interesting to see.
It’s pretty frustrating to me that this report is not easily accessible. Government transparency means it should be on the DCF website. Good internet reporting should link to the full report. Instead we’re offered insufficient information to truly understand the report – and even Mr. Google isn’t helping me find the full report.
It will be interesting to see how the new program goes. We’d certainly like to see things move faster on all sorts of levels 🙂 (While recognizing that our workers are terrific people who work their booties off to care for these kids.)
